Person-Centred Nature Journeys

We use the Alvarez Facilitation Model, more commonly referred to as the Facilitated Wave Model, it provides  a structured approach designed specifically for use in adventure therapy.

The model outlines a six-step process that helps us effectively implement adventure-based support.

  1. Assessment: Evaluating your needs and the therapeutic environment to identify appropriate support.

  2. Intervention Selection: Choosing interventions based on the assessment.

  3. Shaping the Therapeutic Environment: Creating an environment ideal to the selected interventions.

  4. Facilitation: Guiding and facilitating the chosen interventions.

  5. Learning Guidance: Helping clients understand and integrate their experiences during the process.

  6. Evaluation: Assessing the effectiveness of the interventions and the overall therapeutic process.

Once we have worked with you we will travel by foot, paddleboard, canoe, gorge walk etc at a suitable pace and level to enable clear conversation and thought to maximise both the venture and the therapy.

Timings:

We do not operate a therapeutic hour (50 minutes for £50) as you may have experienced elsewhere.

We will contact you for a telephone / in-person conversation to implement the Facilitation Wave Model

We then offer a half day trial session to ensure your therapist aligns with you

From this point you have two options to choose:

Regular half day (3 hours) or full day (6 hours) sessions for a minimum of three weeks with no maximum duration

An intensive program of multiple full days for a minimum of three days upwards staying at Fernbank House

Prices are individualised so please contact us directly for a quote

Welcome and we look forward to journeying with you very soon
